FAB inaugurates Radar Station in Corumbá (MS) to expand aerial surveillance in the region

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) inaugurated a new radar station in Corumbá, MS, on August 18, as part of the modernization process of the Brazilian Airspace Control System (SISCEAB). The state-of-the-art RSM970S NG radar aims to improve air traffic control in the border region with Paraguay and Bolivia, making it easier to identify unauthorized aircraft and contributing to the fight against crimes such as drug and arms trafficking. The event was chaired by President Jair Bolsonaro and attended by various authorities. The new equipment, manufactured by Omnisys, has high detection capacity and protection against interference, and the installation of more radars is planned for the coming years, reinforcing security and sovereignty on Brazil's borders.
