Brazilian highways are undergoing an unprecedented digital transformation. Technology is no longer a secondary resource; it has become the heart of road operations, focused on safety, flow, and efficiency. To closely monitor this evolution and debate the engineering solutions that will support this future, Clemar had a strong presence at the Bienal das Rodovias 2026.

Our team was represented by the Mobility Area Managers, Silvio Longen and Sérgio Murilo Rosa, who actively participated in the immersions and debates focused on the main pain points and innovations of the highway sector. During the event, discussions deepened on how technology will be applied in practice to improve user life and concessionaire management. The main highlights covered were:

  • The future of Free Flow: The implementation of free-flow tolling is already a growing reality. However, it requires license plate reading systems, image processing, and data transmission with extremely high capacity and availability.

  • User Connectivity: The great challenge of current mobility is ensuring that drivers have access to information, emergency services, and uninterrupted communication along the entire road, reducing dead zones and improving incident response times.

  • Critical Mission Infrastructure on the roads: No road technological innovation works without a solid foundation behind it. Critical Mission infrastructure—encompassing fiber optic networks, modular data centers at the edge (Edge Computing), and uninterrupted power systems—is what guarantees that highway operations never go offline.

The Bienal das Rodovias also proved to be an excellent space for strengthening our strategic relationships with major market players. We leave our special thanks to ABCR (Brazilian Association of Highway Concessionaires) for promoting and organizing the event, and to all clients and partners who shared their visions of the future with us throughout the fair.

The conclusion we draw from the discussions is very clear: a truly smart highway requires an extremely robust infrastructure. It is with this vision of continuity, safety, and efficiency that Clemar Engenharia continues investing and working to deliver the best solutions for mobility in Brazil.
