The advance of the energy transition in Brazil has demanded from companies resilience, efficiency, and, above all, constant technological innovation. Inserted in this context and always attentive to the transformations of the electricity sector, Clemar Engenharia attended CINASE 2026, held on April 28 and 29, in Salvador (BA).
To ensure maximum absorption of technical content and the strengthening of commercial relations, Clemar sent a strategic delegation composed of: José Luiz Fernandes D’Aquino (Business Manager), Rafael Garcia (Regional Manager), Ademir Coelho (PE Branch Manager), Rodrigo Teixeira (BA Branch Manager), and Jorge Junio (Contracts Coordinator). One of the richest moments of the event was the panel “Energy Storage – The Present and the Future: What you need to know!”. The debate brought together heavyweight experts to discuss the practical application of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) in the current operation of the Brazilian electrical system.
It became clear that storage is no longer a medium-term solution but has consolidated itself as a viable and necessary alternative today, mainly for commercial and industrial consumers. Among the main findings of the panel, the following stood out:
Economic viability: The significant reduction in battery costs over the last decade has made the payback of projects much more attractive.
Energy arbitrage: The use of storage allows taking advantage of tariff differences between peak and off-peak hours — a strategy with high return potential, especially in the Northeast.
Regulatory framework: The impacts of Law 14,300, which altered the distributed generation model, opened up space for much stronger integration between solar matrices and battery banks.
Practical innovation: Innovative actions by distributors were presented, including the adoption of mobile batteries and modular projects, highlighting national success cases such as Fernando de Noronha.
The importance of Engineering: For all this to work, projects must be rigorously dimensioned, requiring a strong technical base, detailed load profile analysis, and broad regulatory understanding.
The broad consensus of the debate highlighted the maturity of the sector: the market question is no longer if storage is viable, but rather which client profiles can (and should) benefit from this solution immediately.
Besides the plenaries, the Clemar team dedicated their schedule to strategic visits to partner companies' booths. These meetings are fundamental to strengthen commercial ties, prospect new opportunities, and closely understand the latest movements in the supply chain.
For Clemar Engenharia, being present at events like CINASE reinforces our commitment to excellence. By following the evolution of regulation and new technologies, we prepare our engineering team to integrate the most modern and secure energy solutions into our clients' projects. We will continue to anticipate trends to ensure that our services are always aligned with the highest demands of the Brazilian market.
